Context

Adamsons Accountants provides accounts, taxation and advisory services to UK businesses, with a stated focus on small-business clients and cost-effective financial solutions.

Challenge

Accountancy is a category where every firm's service list looks approximately the same. Compliance, tax, payroll, advisory — the words do not differentiate, so a website that leads with them leads with nothing. The differentiator here is who the practice is actually for, and that was the thing the structure needed to surface first.

Strategy

We led with the specialism rather than the service list. The proposition states the full accounting service and the small-business focus in the same breath, so a sole trader or a growing company recognises themselves before they reach any technical detail.

Behind that, the services were grouped into compliance, support, and consultancy and systems, with start-up, taxation and corporation tax presented as entry points rather than buried categories. A business at the point of incorporation and a business with a corporation tax deadline are different visitors with different urgencies, and the structure treats them that way.

Design and system

The layout is deliberately calm. Financial services buyers are assessing reliability, and an interface that behaves predictably does more for that assessment than decoration does. Type hierarchy carries the structure; service groups are separated by space and rule rather than by boxes competing for attention.

Build

Content is organised so a service can be added or reworded without touching the layout, which matters in a practice whose obligations change with each fiscal year. Enquiry and quote routes sit in the header and repeat at the end of the service sequence, at the point where a visitor has enough information to act.

Outcome

Led with the practice's small-business specialism and grouped compliance, support and consultancy work so a prospective client can locate their own situation quickly.
